Company

Engineering, manufacture and testing of hydro-mechanical equipment, from the first hydraulic calculation to commissioning on site.

To be completed: the fields still marked in square brackets — number of employees, production area, certificates held, and the three reference projects. Everything else on the page is ready to publish.

Profile

Who we are

BH2O designs, manufactures and delivers valves, welded steel constructions and machined components for hydro power plants, thermal power plants and industrial water systems.

Our work covers the whole chain in one place: hydraulic and strength calculations, design and drawings for approval, fabrication and welding, machining of sealing and bearing surfaces, assembly, testing, corrosion protection, and technical support during installation and commissioning. That is what allows a valve to be built for the plant it is going into rather than adapted to it afterwards.

A large share of our projects concerns plants that have been in operation for decades, where original documentation is incomplete and the new equipment has to fit civil works that will not be changed. Surveying the existing installation, recalculating it and manufacturing a component that fits the first time is a routine part of the work, not an exception.

Capabilities

What we do in house

01

Engineering

Hydraulic sizing, head loss and cavitation checks, closing-time and surge analysis, strength calculations and FEM, 3D design, drawings for client approval.

02

Fabrication and welding

Cutting, rolling and forming, jig assembly, welding to qualified procedures, stress relieving, NDT and dimensional control.

03

Machining

Turning, boring and milling of large components, grinding and lapping of sealing faces, bearing seats and shafts.

04

Assembly and testing

Complete assembly with actuation and hydraulic unit, pressure and tightness tests, functional and closing-time tests, factory acceptance with the client.

05

Corrosion protection

Blast cleaning and coating systems to EN ISO 12944, hot-dip galvanising, stainless steel cladding and hard-facing of wetted surfaces.

06

Site support and service

Installation supervision, commissioning, overhaul of valves in operation, spare parts and reverse engineering of obsolete components.

Quality

Quality and documentation

Each order runs against a quality plan agreed with the client, with defined inspection and hold points. Nothing leaves the shop without the records that belong to it.

Inspection and test plan

Prepared per order, with hold and witness points for the client and, where required, for a third-party inspection body.

Material traceability

Inspection certificates EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2, marking transferred and recorded at every cutting stage.

Welding control

EN ISO 3834-2 quality requirements, WPS and WPQR to EN ISO 15614-1, welders qualified to EN ISO 9606-1, welding supervision to EN ISO 14731.

Non-destructive testing

VT, PT, MT, UT and RT to EN ISO 17635 by personnel certified to EN ISO 9712, with acceptance levels per the design code.

Pressure and functional testing

Shell and seat tests to EN 12266, functional and closing-time tests with the actuation installed, recorded protocols.

Final documentation

As-built drawings, calculation reports, test records, coating report, operation and maintenance manual and spare parts list.
